“I work with paint as a dancer works with motion,”

Dumont explains, theorizing that her early training in

both ballet and figure skating provided her with the

work ethic and endurance necessary to sustain long

hours in the studio. “I also work large – large

canvases, large brushes and large shapes,” she

says, adding that her work is done entirely standing,

using her whole body to create the art.
